At Cup of Joy Tea, we believe joy is often found in life's simplest moments.

A quiet morning before the day begins. A conversation shared with a friend. A peaceful pause in the middle of a busy afternoon. A warm cup held between your hands as you take a moment to breathe.

These small rituals have the power to ground us, comfort us, and reconnect us to what matters most.

That's why we created Cup of Joy Tea.

  • People

We believe in honoring the dignity and individuality of every human, in cultivating truly inclusive environments, and building deep and meaningful connections.

  • Curiosity

We believe in approaching the world with a sense of curiosity and wonder, always learning and exploring, being open to expanding our world view, and challenging ourselves.

  • Stewardship

We believe we have a duty to honor and protect our natural resources and all other living creatures, and in making business and lifestyle choices that leave a positive impact.

  • Creativity

We believe in the power and right to self expression, in filling our world with color and art, and injecting the everyday with magic and whimsy.

  • Joy

We believe in approaching each day with a joyful attitude, with a sense of gratitude and abundance, and with humor and lighthearted fun.

Our Commitment

We are committed to offering teas that inspire both enjoyment and well-being.

Every tea in our collection is chosen for its exceptional quality, beautiful flavor, and ability to create memorable tea experiences. From traditional teas sourced from renowned growing regions to handcrafted botanical blends, we seek out selections that are as enjoyable to share as they are to sip.

We believe great tea should nourish more than the palate. It should nourish connection, curiosity, comfort, and joy.

Meet the Owner

Cup of Joy Tea was founded by Joy Sorich (picture right). Born from her passion for tea as a vehicle for wellness she grew the business over several years. In 2026, Joy decided it was time to retire and passed the baton over to Shennandoah Connor (that's me! - the curly haired gal on the left)

I was drawn to Cup of Joy as I've had a lifelong passion for tea, wellness, and creating meaningful experiences. Drawing inspiration from herbal traditions, horticulture, mindfulness practices, and the art of welcoming others, my goal is to help people cultivate moments of comfort, connection, and joy through the simple ritual of tea.

When I'm not exploring new teas and botanicals, you'll often find me creating guest experiences, tending gardens, learning about herbs, baking, crafting (especially knitting), tending chickens, or dreaming up new ways to bring people together around a cup of tea. I'm also a mom of three neurospicy and intellectually disabled children, wife to an Army veteran, a homesteader, farm girl sisterhood member, puzzle geek, and all around nerd.
